Landscapes
The four seasons, windy weather, intense summer heat, and snowfalls are the joys of the landscape painter. Historic architecture and world travels, combined with hundreds of studies in museums from terrific landscape artists throughout time and different cultures make up my vast experience, but to always forget while painting on the spot to achieve a personal interpretation of nature -- that's always been my independent goal and it still is. Like Bruce Lee said, " Absorb what is useful".
My first time painting a landscape at the high school stadium involved a sunrise happening. I wish I had that painting now. It was a painting of dark purples and blues with a touch of brilliant orange on the horizon. Wait as it's in my mind now! Lol. Watercolors, ink drawings, acrylic and oil paintings over decades within a variety of countries has always been dear to my heart with the same enthusiasm as that first high school acrylic a while back. Fyi ,I'm particularly fascinated as to how forts and ancient sites are constructed and how could they could be accomplished. Old marvels!
This small show displayed works based on landscapes, jewelry and fashion,and a few works that touched on other imaginative subjects. I am proud that it was so very well received by all that attended too! It shows displayed a variety of paintings reflecting my interest in several types of subjects. It was viewed very favorably by everyone that saw it, which left me extremely proud as well.
