This is a quite uniquely rare work for me as I recalled all of those incredible years of figure drawing, with a vague memory of a seated woman by Rembrandt guiding me slightly. People have commented that the colors are reminiscent of Peru where I was living at the time ,but this was not intentional on my part ,even though I do not mind the comparison at all. So the question is who is dreaming about what ?And then why do we have the special privilege of this invitation solely for us ? Very astute questions may I add. It's interesting as when a work of mine is completed to my intense satisfaction it has the life outside of myself. You conjure up your personal answers as I am just a voyager on this excursion too as much as the creator. This is a fascinating topic that is rarely explored in my opinion. It is the mystery of art and what it reveals over time that attracts me ,along with the creativity involved that uplifts me on my journey as an artistically intelligent person. How often do you get hypnotized by a tremendous film that challenges and keeps you guessing for days after ? This work will continually draw you in as a participant while suggesting a multitude of thoughts that are up to you to enjoy and reflect on. I will tell you that the genesis is a seated figure by Rembrandt even though I can not pin point the specific work from decades ago....sometimes images infiltrate our minds only to revisit for some possibly unknown reasons. Agree ? Plus ideas about mythology and the spiritual physic powers of nature including animals has always been a driving force in my work ;even while driving through Canada it was marvelous to see that hundreds of years ago there were stone spirit guides to give lost travelers their bearings while directing them to the nearest village. In essence we are going on a voyage into the true unknown in this work which someone just described to me as a work of GENIUS ! Maybe so but I am modest too ! LOL I appreciate you traveling on this journey with me quite honestly. Oil on Masonite Panel sold with a gorgeous appropriate frame included .
